Vandaag onszelf verschillende keren afgevraagd of wij niet beter aan het strand of zwembad zouden kunnen liggen. Wij hebben urenlang in de brand gestaan!🔥 35 graden bij aankomst in onze slaapplaats rond 14:30.
Alweer nauwelijks schaduw onderweg en barretjes waren ook al schaars. Wel heerlijke druiven geplukt en gegeten, wat waren deze lekker!! Caroline, de Duitse dame met wie wij vandaag gelopen hebben en een kamer delen, zou het leuk gevonden hebben om een duik te nemen in een zwembad. Uiteindelijk bleek een douche net zo bevredigend te zijn!

Hoy nos preguntamos varias veces si no seria mejor estar en la playa o piscina. Durante horas nos estuvimos quemando!🔥 35 grados cuando llegamos alrededor de las 14:30. De nuevo apenas sombra y los bares también son escasos. Si cogimos y comimos uvas, que buenas estaban!! Caroline, la alemana con la quién caminamos y compartimos habitación hoy, le hubiera gustado darse un chapuzón en la piscina. Al final una ducha resultó ser igual de satisfactoria!

Today we wandered a couple times if the beach or a swimming pool would not be a better place to be. During our walk we were on fire! 🔥35 degrees upon arrival at our sleeping place at 14:30. Again hardly any shade and bars are also rare. We did pluck and eat grapes, they were delicious!! Caroline, the German lady with whom we walked today would have liked to jump into a pool. At the end a shower appeared to be as satisfying!

D4: Azambuja - Santarem: 33km
Wat is de zon heet! Waar kunnen wij een beetje schaduw bestellen? Om 8:30 voelden wij de zon al op onze huid branden, om 16:10 arriveerden wij in de herberg. 16km na onze eerste stop was dat de eerste plek waar wij in de schaduw konden zitten! 's Nachts lopen zou nu ideaal zijn. Jammer dat een mens dan zo weinig ziet want het mooie landschap missen zou erg jammer zijn!!
Herberg was erg goed. Wat nog leuker was dat Caroline, een leuke Duitse dame die wij zaterdag, de eerste dag, hebben ontmoet, al onze bedden had gereserveerd! 👏🏻

Como calienta el sol! En donde podemos pedir una poquita sombra? A las 8:30 ya sentíamos arder el sol nuestra piel, a las 16:10 llegamos al albergue. Despues de 16km el primer sitio con sombra! Caminar de noche seria ahora perfecto. Que pena que el ser humano no vea mucho de noche pues perderse el bonito paisaje sería una lástima. El albergue estaba muy bien. Lo que aún estuvo mejor fue que Caroline, una simpática alemana que conocimos el sábado primer día, ya tenía nuestras camas reservadas👏🏻

How hot can the sun be!! Where can we order some shade? At 8:30 we already felt the sun burning on our skin, at 16:10 we arrived at the hostal. After 16km this was the first place where we were able to sit in the shade. Walking during nighttime would be perfect now. Too bad a human being can't see a lot then and missing out on the beautiful landscape would be a pity. The hostel was very good. What was even better was that Caroline, the lovely German lady, who we met Saturday on the first day, already made us a bed reservation👏🏻
Herberg was erg goed. Wat nog leuker was dat Caroline, een leuke Duitse dame die wij zaterdag, de eerste dag, hebben ontmoet, al onze bedden had gereserveerd! 👏🏻

D3: Vila Franca de Xira-Azambuja: 20km
Verschrikkelijk! Fabrieken, industrieterrein, autoweg, treinspoor, vrachtwagens. Vandaag heb ik echt gezocht naar schoonheid maar heb gefaald. Morgen is weer een nieuwe dag.

Horrible! Fabricas, polígono industrial, carretera, vía de tren, camiones. De verdad he buscado por belleza hoy pero he fallado. Mañana será un nuevo día

Horrible! Factories, industrial area, motorway, traintrack, trucks. I have really tried to see beauty today and I have failed. Tomorrow will be a new day.
